[Stories] McDonald's gets taken over by gospel choir who burst into song - then staff and customers joined in

This is the colourful moment a church group took over a McDonald's.

The video shows the fast food restaurant erupting into song and dance - which one witness described as “infectious”.
It started when members of a Christian organisation popped into the branch in Llandudno for a late night meal.

They began an impromptu sing-along which became so loud that some members though that they were going to get thrown out.
But to their shock, staff members and even customers joined in.

Franck Montrose, who lives in London, captured the random performance on video.
The 26-year-old said: “Last Thursday was the third night of our 50th Jubilee General Conference of the United Pentecostal Church of Great Britain and Ireland (UPC GB&I).

“We hold the conference every year at the Venue Cymru in Llandudno.
“After our Worship service and the preaching of the word of God that evening, a few of the younger members went out for an afterburner at McDonald’s to carry on the worshipping of our Lord, Savior and God Jesus Christ.

"What started out in a simple chorus, turned into a whole choir. Before we knew it, everyone joined in and people drumming and clapping and harmonising.
"Brother Osi initially thought we would be kicked out of there and they would never invite us back but they loved it!

"The Llandudno locals have always been so welcoming and kind, even though it must have been quite unusual for them.

"The National Youth Department (NYD) team and our youth leaders do have a vision to encourage our young people to serve.

"We have been in touch with the council and also the mayor, who have given us the opportunity to help the community in any way we can.

"This year, we were able to help out in one of the local parks.
"We separated the young people into teams of painting, cleaning, litter-picking, digging and it was a blessing for us all to be as much help as we could be."
One resident who witnessed the musical display said: “They come to Llandudno every year, but the singing came out of nowhere.

“There were maybe 10-15 locals in the restaurant, and we all got swept up in the atmosphere.
"The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic, so full of positivity, and just having a great time.

“The staff and customers all got involved it was so contagious.
“They’re a great group. Their energy is infections."
UPC GB&I is a Christian organisation in Great Britain and Ireland, it is part of United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) whose headquarters are based in the USA.
