Two-time GRAMMY-nominated singer, Koryn Hawthorne, released her new single ‘Speak to Me’ off her much-anticipated album “I Am“. This comes on the heels of “Pray” which was released a few weeks ago and reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Digital Song Sales chart.
The brand new single ‘Speak to Me‘ is the second single off the new album and The Voice alumni demonstrates her effortless ability to transcend and excel across all genres of music. ‘Speak to Me‘ has a feel-good vibe and features a sample from gospel legend, Donnie McClurkin’s popular song ‘Speak to my Heart’.
Receiving Donnie’s blessing, Hawthorne expresses her heartfelt appreciation. “I’m really grateful and honored Donnie allowed me to do this. This song is legendary for me. I grew up listening to and singing it with my mom. It’s a Gospel classic and that’s really dope. I’m really excited about this, it’s like his way of passing on the baton to me to continue on with Gospel music, and where I’m taking it. I’m grateful he trusted me to do this,” shares Hawthorne.
Koryn the first track from the “I Am” album titled ‘Pray‘ offered an encouraging reminder, especially during these unprecedented times, that regardless of the circumstance prayer is always a necessity. The track has a soothing R&B sound, continuing to demonstrate the songstress’ boundless vocal artistry. Hawthorne consistently continues to add value to the gospel music industry.
