Artist Spotlight: Iryne Rock

Iryne (pronounced Irene) Rock has always loved music. She grew up listening to gospel and contemporary christian music, a gift given to her by her parents. Living in Nigeria, she would keep up with the latest Christian music with WOW CDs and inadvertently fell in love with artists like Cece Winans, DC Talk, Newsboys and Michael W. Smith. In her teen years, Iryne began writing her own songs, a secret she hid from most of her family. Over the course of time, she garnered enough courage to share some of her songs with her church, as a worship leader at Solomon’s Porch, Maryland. The positive response reinforced what the Holy Spirit laid in her heart and birthed her first album, Just For You, in 2018.

It was an enlightening venture into music for her and her husband. It led to an encounter with Grammy and Dove nominated producer Billy Smiley. Together, they produced a worship EP, “Grateful” that was released in May 2021. Even though she was never one to label herself as a worship artist, she felt led to do this worship EP and hopes it helps the church draw closer to the Father. Iryne has a new single being released on July 14, 2021.

This song truly represents her as a dynamic, multifaceted, Nigerian American Christian Pop artist, as it celebrates the joy of salvation and showcases the power of love. As a wife, mother, singer and songwriter, Iryne is ready to spread the gospel, with her newest single, “What Love Is”.
