Jacob inherited the blessings of his grandfather Abraham through his father, Isaac. That blessing was an irrevocable trust — an unconditional promise transferred down through the ages. When Jacob faced a difficult transition, he clung tightly to God, refusing to let go until more blessings were promised. We must see the difficult transitions in our lives as opportunities to update our mindset and cling desperately to God.
