CA Inspiration celebrates the song “Bless Me,” by Maverick City Music and Kirk Franklin (Fo Yo Soul/RCA), which won at the 2023 BET Awards in the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award category. The BET Awards were held in Los Angeles on June 25th, with winners announced both on the show and off-air honoring music, television, and film. “Bless Me” is one of the featured singles from the acclaimed collaboration by Maverick City Music and Kirk Franklin, who recorded the live album Kingdom Book One (Tribl Records/Fo Yo Soul/RCA Inspiration).
The BET Award win marks the fifth award this year honoring the enduring power of the songs from the 2022 Kingdom Book One, which previously has won a 2023 NAACP Image Award and three awards at the 2023 GRAMMY® Awards. Kingdom Book One was recorded live together with 1,300 inmates in a Florida prison yard, creating an unforgettable ministry experience.
