When Samuel was a boy, his whole life was devoted to serving the Lord, before Samuel even knew Him! The Word of the Lord had not been revealed to him yet; but as Eli’s eyes began to dim, Samuel’s were opened. When we receive the Word of the Lord and allow it to transform and guide our lives, it prospers us — only then can we thrive the way God wants us to. Are you worrying over insignificant things, or are you resting in God? Samuel heard the Lord while he was laying down for the night. You cannot make God reveal Himself. It’s not about striving. It’s about resting, and waiting.
